Terms of service

The rules for using Prep Platform

Last updated 30 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us about using Prep Platform. Most of the students here are children, so a parent or guardian agrees to them for their child. We've kept them in plain words, and they work together with our privacy notice.

The short version

  • Prep Platform is practice for learning. We can't promise a score, a place at a school, or that every question is perfect.
  • A subscription renews until you cancel it. You can cancel any time, and the practice keeps working until the end of what you paid for. We don't give refunds.
  • A student's practice record belongs to their account. A forgotten password is reset by email, and nothing is lost.
  • Our questions, passages and notes are ours. Use them to practice, and don't copy, sell or share them.
  • Wyoming law applies to these terms, and legal disputes go to courts in Wyoming.

1.Who these terms are for

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("Prep Platform", "we", "us"). They cover everything on this website: the practice sets and tests, the notes, the ledger, the vocabulary pages, the sign-in and account pages, and anything else we offer here (together, the "service").

You agree to these terms when you use the service, make an account, or pay for practice. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

  • Parents and guardians. When you make an account for a student and pay for their practice, you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian, and you agree to these terms for yourself and for your child. You are responsible for how your child uses the service, and for helping them follow these terms.
  • Students. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with a parent's or guardian's agreement. Your parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you when they make your account and pay for your practice. If you are 18 or older, you may make and pay for an account yourself.
  • Everyone else. If you use the service without an account, these terms still apply to that use.

Our privacy notice explains what we keep, why, and the choices you have. It is part of these terms.

2.What Prep Platform is

Prep Platform is practice for admission and placement tests: the ISEE, the SSAT and MAP Growth. Practice is sold in "books", one for each test and level, such as ISEE Lower Level or ISEE Middle Level. A book includes its practice sets, its full-length practice tests where the test has them, explanations, concept notes, and the ledger that records the student's work. Our pricing page lists what is on sale now; books it lists as coming later can't be bought yet.

We are independent. Prep Platform is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ERB, which owns the ISEE; The Enrollment Management Association, which owns the SSAT; or NWEA, which owns MAP Growth. Those names are their trademarks, and we use them only to say which test our practice is for. We write our own questions. They are not questions from the real tests.

Practice is not a prediction. The scores, percentages and patterns the service shows describe the practice a student has done. They are not a forecast of a test score, and they don't show how a school will decide.

3.Practicing without an account

Some practice may be open without an account. That practice is saved only in the browser on the device you're using, as the privacy notice explains. We don't receive it, and we can't restore it if the browser's data is cleared. We may decide which practice is open without an account, and change it, at any time.

4.Accounts

An account lets a student's practice follow them from device to device. Each account is for one student. A parent or guardian (or a student who is 18 or older) makes it with their email and a password, or with Google, and pays for the practice. The student then signs in with the same email and password on their own devices. Nothing of the student's practice is saved to the account until it's paid for, or has free time. An account that isn't paid for is deleted 30 days after it was made, or 30 days after its free time ended if that is later.

Free time and codes

We may give an account free time on a test, ourselves or with a code. A code for free time works once, only for the test or tests it's for, and can't be exchanged for money. Free time needs no card, nothing is charged, and it ends by itself. During it, practice is saved to the account. If no plan is paid for within 30 days after the free time ends, that practice is deleted, with the account. A plan bought for a test during its free time starts when the free time ends, and its first payment is taken then. A code used on a test the account already pays for moves that plan's next payment later by the code's days. A discount code takes money off a plan instead. It's applied on the payment page, and how often and by whom it can be used are the limits stated with the code; it can't be exchanged for money either.

Keeping an account safe

  • Use an email address you actually use. Password resets and receipts go there.
  • Keep the password private, and share it only with the student the account is for.
  • Tell us right away if you think someone else is using an account.

A forgotten password

A forgotten password is reset with a link we email to the account's address. The practice history and everything paid for stay with the account.

What the account holder can do

Signed in on the account page, the account holder can sign the account out of every device, see receipts, change the card, cancel, or delete the account. Devices that aren't used for 180 days are signed out.

5.Buying practice

  • Who pays. Practice is bought by the account holder, a parent or guardian (or an adult student), by card, through our payment provider, Stripe. Stripe's own terms also apply to the payment. We never see the card number.
  • Your payment is your consent. The first payment for an account's practice is how a parent or guardian gives consent to their child's account, as the privacy notice describes.
  • What a subscription buys. Each subscription is for one account and covers the books you choose, each at the plan's price. The plans are monthly, every three months, and yearly, at the prices on our pricing page and shown at checkout. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
  • Taxes. Prices don't include any sales tax or similar tax that applies where you live. If tax applies, it's added at checkout.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will try again, and access to the books may pause until it succeeds. The student's practice record is kept.

6.Renewal and cancelling

  • Subscriptions renew automatically. At the end of each period, your subscription renews for another period of the same length, and the card on file is charged the plan's price then in effect, until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time. You can cancel from the account page, which opens Stripe's billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal. The books keep working until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then stop. The student's account and practice record stay until you delete them.
  • Deleting is different from cancelling. Deleting an account cancels its billing and deletes the account and its record at once, so its books stop working right away, even if part of a period is left.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of a plan, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next renewal. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before that renewal.
  • Reminders. Before a three-month or yearly plan renews, we'll email a reminder to the address on the account, with the date and the amount.

7.No refunds

All payments are final. We don't give refunds or credits, in full or in part, for any plan, including for time left in a period after you cancel or delete an account, for practice that wasn't used, or for a renewal you forgot to cancel. Instead, you can cancel any time, and the practice keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.

There are four exceptions:

  • if we charged you by mistake, for example twice for the same thing, we'll refund the mistaken charge;
  • if a payment can't be connected to an account (for example, because the account was deleted while you were paying), we cancel that subscription and refund the payment;
  • if we stop offering a book you've paid for before your period ends, we'll refund the unused part of that period (section 13);
  • if the law where you live gives you a right to a refund or to cancel a purchase, these terms don't take that right away.

8.Practice records and privacy

The privacy notice describes everything we keep, and it controls how we handle personal information. In short: a student's practice record is reachable only by signing in to their account, and we don't look at it; we receive anonymous answer counts that can't be traced to anyone, and use them to improve our questions; we don't show ads, and we never sell or share personal information.

Anyone signed in to an account can download a copy of its record at any time. We can't restore a record that has been deleted.

9.Our content, and what you may do with it

The questions, answer choices, explanations, passages, figures, concept notes, word lists, designs, software and everything else we make for the service belong to us or to the people who license them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws.

While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, limited permission, which you can't transfer, to use the service for the student's own practice and learning. For paid books, that permission lasts while the subscription is active. You may not:

  • copy, download in bulk, reproduce, publish, sell, rent, share or distribute our questions, passages, explanations or notes, including by posting them online or handing them out to a class;
  • use the service to teach paying students outside the teacher features we offer, or to build a product or service that competes with ours;
  • scrape, crawl or collect our content with automated tools, or use it to train or improve an artificial intelligence model;
  • remove or change any copyright notice, label or credit.

A student may print or write down a few questions for their own study, or show one to a teacher, parent or tutor who is helping them.

Your ideas. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything. A student's practice record stays theirs.

10.Rules for using the site

When you use the service, you agree not to:

  • sign in as someone else, or try to get into an account, record or system that isn't yours;
  • say you are a child's parent or guardian when you aren't;
  • share one student's account among several students, or resell access;
  • use the service during a real test, or in any way that breaks the rules of a test you're taking;
  • attack, overload, probe or disrupt the service, get around its limits or protections, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows that despite this term;
  • use bots or other automated tools to use the service, except a screen reader or other tool that helps you use it;
  • use the service to break the law, or to harm, harass or deceive anyone.

11.Mistakes in our questions

Every question is checked before it goes into a book, but mistakes still happen: a key that's wrong, two answers that could both be right, a typo. If you find one, please tell us at the address below. We may fix, change or remove questions at any time. A fix can change how a question appears, but it never rewrites a student's past results.

12.Teachers and tutors

The teacher pages are a preview. They don't send invitations or connect to any student yet, and teacher accounts can't be bought. When teacher accounts arrive, a teacher will see a student's record only after the student's parent or guardian approves it, and we'll update these terms and the privacy notice before that happens. A teacher who sees a student's information may use it only to teach that student.

13.Changes to the site and these terms

We keep improving the service, so we may add, change or remove features, books and questions. If we stop offering a book you've paid for before the end of your period, we'll refund the unused part of that period.

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what you pay for or your rights in a meaningful way, we'll email the account holder before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you agree to the new terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the service. A change never applies to a dispute that started before it.

14.Ending an account

The account holder can delete the account, with its record and its email, from the account page at any time. What deleting removes is described in the privacy notice.

We may suspend or close an account, or stop providing the service to someone, if they break these terms, if a payment is reversed or found to be fraudulent, if we have to because of the law, or to protect students, other users or the service. Where it's fair and safe to do so, we'll tell the account holder first and give them a chance to fix the problem. If we close an account because these terms were broken, we don't give a refund.

Sections 7, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 19 keep applying after an account ends.

15.What we don't promise

We work hard on the service, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, whether stated or implied, including that the service is fit for a particular purpose, that it is accurate, complete or free of errors, or that it will always be available, uninterrupted or secure. In particular, we don't promise any test score, admission, placement or result, and the service is not a replacement for a school's or a test maker's official materials.

Practice saved only in a browser can be lost when the browser's data is cleared, and we can't restore it.

Some places don't allow these exclusions. Where that's the case, they apply only as far as the law allows.

16.Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost data, lost opportunities, or test or admission outcomes, arising from or related to the service, even if we were told they were possible; and
  • our total responsibility for all claims arising from or related to the service or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or 50 US dollars if you haven't paid us anything.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

17.Governing law and where disputes go

Talk to us first. If you have a problem with the service, please write to us at the address below. Most problems can be fixed that way, and we'll try in good faith for 30 days before either of us goes to court.

Governing law. These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them or to the service, are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law.

Where legal actions must be brought. Any lawsuit, action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these terms or the service must be brought only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Wyoming. You and we each agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, and give up any objection to bringing a case there, including that the place is inconvenient.

Consumers outside the United States. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose law gives consumers protections that a contract can't take away, you keep those protections, and you may also bring a case in the courts where you live.

We respect other people's work. If you believe something on the service copies your work without permission, write to us at the address below with: your contact details; a description of the work; where it appears on the service; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the work or are authorized to act for its owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We'll look into it and remove the material if that's the right thing to do.

19.The rest of the legal details

  • The whole agreement. These terms and the privacy notice are the whole agreement between you and us about the service, and they replace any earlier agreement about it.
  • If a part doesn't hold. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited as little as needed, and the rest stays in effect.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Transfers. You can't transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours, for example if our business is sold, and these terms will keep protecting you.
  • Things outside our control. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control, such as outages at our providers, network failures, natural disasters or government action.
  • Emails. You agree that we can send you notices, receipts and other messages about the service by email, and that these count as being "in writing". We send them to the parent's address on the account.
  • Language and headings. These terms are written in English, and the English version controls. Headings and the short version are there to help you read; they don't change what the terms say.
  • No one else. These terms are between you and us. They don't give rights to anyone else.
